Smart Marketing Campaign Is Not Enough




Recently, I bought a product from a brand in Abuja, Nigeria because of their massive marketing campaigns (which is their major strategy to take over the market from the market leaders) but sadly, the product isn't durable unlike other brands’, I had a negative experience with the product which led to poor impression about the brand.

I felt I lost the N35,000 because I didn't get the value that commensurate the cost. As a result, the brand lost any potential post-purchase and referral opportunities from me. Sadly, their massive marketing campaigns couldn’t cover up for the poor product experience.

As brand owners, we need to understand that marketing campaigns only drive customers to the brand, but the value they get will keep them for post-purchase and referral opportunities. In fact, any serious marketing communication that will attract and retain customers must fully focus on the brand value and core customer insight.
